If you have a lot of broken links across the site then I know for a fact that you are not going to be getting all of the business you deserve as people will leave the site. If this is a problem for someone looking to come into the site then you know the first thing that they are going to be doing dont you? They will simply come into the site see that it is pants and go elsewhere.

If you think that parts of your site need improvements imgaine what users are going to think, get them fixed before you lose out altogether. This is because there are so many competitors around for each kind of business that they can just go elsewhere if they wanted to.
